Classic Moonshine Recipe
- 10 pounds of sugar
- 5 gallons of water
- 2 tablespoons of yeast
- Start by dissolving the sugar in a large pot of boiling water.
- Once the sugar has dissolved, turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
- Add 2 tablespoons of yeast to the pot and stir for a few seconds.
- Transfer the mixture to a clean fermentation container with an airlock.
- Store the container in a dark and cool place for around 6-8 days, allowing the yeast to do its job and ferment the sugar.
- After 6-8 days, transfer the fermented mixture to a still to distill the alcohol.
- Store the distilled alcohol in a sterile, airtight container and enjoy the delicious homemade moonshine!
Apple Pie Moonshine Recipe
- 1 gallon of apple juice
- 1 gallon of apple cider
- 3 cups of brown sugar
- 1 liter of 190-proof grain alcohol
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 whole nutmeg
- 10 whole cloves
- Start by pouring the apple juice and apple cider into a large pot.
- Add in the brown sugar and stir until it has dissolved.
- Add the cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, and cloves to the pot, and allow the mixture to heat up until it is boiling.
- Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for around an hour or until the spice blend infuses into the mixture.
- After an hour, take off the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
- Add in the grain alcohol and give it a good stir, making sure it is well mixed.
- Leave the mixture to sit for at least 2 weeks, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Once the 2 weeks are over, strain the mixture through a clean cheesecloth into a clean container and enjoy the delectable apple pie moonshine!
