Delicious Maizena Recipe
Oh my gosh, I just have to share this amazing recipe for Maizena with you guys. If you haven't tried it yet, you are missing out on something truly special. Maizena is basically a type of cornstarch that is used in a variety of dishes, but it is especially popular in Latin American cuisine.

Ingredients
- 1 cup of Maizena (cornstarch)
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the Maizena, flour, sugar, and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter until it is light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until everything is well combined.
- Form the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes, or until they are lightly golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely before serving.
Delicious Alfajores de Maizena
If you are looking for something that is not too sweet, but still absolutely delicious, you have to try Alfajores de Maizena. These delicate little treats are quite popular in Argentina and are perfect with a cup of coffee or tea.

Ingredients
- 1 cup of cornstarch (Maizena)
- 3/4 cup of flour
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of butter, softened
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 can of dulce de leche (caramelized milk)
- 1/2 cup of shredded coconut
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the cornstarch, flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter until it is light and fluffy. Add the egg yolks and vanilla and mix until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until everything is well combined.
- Form the dough into a ball and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface until it is about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into small circles using a cookie cutter or a round glass.
- Place the circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until they are lightly golden brown.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool completely.
- Sandwich the cookies together with dulce de leche and roll the edges in shredded coconut.
